i have a few questions about my evinrude could anyone help

hi there new to this site and so far i found a lot of info but im trying to figure out what year my motor is i know its a 20hp i would like to find a web site or something that could give me the year of the motor the model # is E20CRCIM and im wondering im reading a lot about making the intake hole bigger and changing the carb to a 30hp but im wondering how big to i have to bore out the in take hole and my last question i change the firing system to a new model that has a charging system and electric start im wondering if there is a wire diagram for it so i can charge my battery with it i put my muti meter on the 4 or more terminal and the all had power just wonder witch one to run to my battery thanks

you need a rectifier to charge battery. if you want a 30hp sell what you have, and buy what you want.

1981. Except the there is not a 20 hp listed in 1981.
Sure it's not E25RCIM ?

Near as I can tell it is an 89.Can't help you on the charge hook up or intake changes.
Brokeboats.com has lots of info including wiring and color code.I haven't been there in years so not even sure it is still there.
As far as the intake changes Your asking a lot to gain a 50% power increase with a simple carb change and intake inlargement.I'm pretty sure there is a porting change as well.
as a reedvalve change.
Wouldn't hurt to look around for any problems associated with it. Many times these types
of alterations are not reccomended and it is suggested if you want more power to buy more power.

If your looking to "soup up" your motor to go faster then buy a bigger motor.
As for the year of your motor I think you have the serial number wrong which isnt hard to do there really small and hard to read but they didnt make a 20hp in 84.

inless the number i got is e20crcLm instead of e20crcIm and maybe its a 25hp i dont know
