Well wow i found y its rotten i got to really lookin at where the motor bolts on and noticed weird paint i picked at it and it was silicone filling a 2 inch hole in my ROTTEN TRANSOM!
now for the million dollar question:
do you really love the boat, the lines and the layout? If so, go to dry dock and replace the transom......... you will know after that it was done the RIGHT way.............
if not , time to strip any and everything off of it and look for a new hull........................ and look for rot BEFORE buying it

Im not that attached to it it's just a boat. I've found a fish & ski with no motor that im going to look at. It will be an upgrade from my 1978 as it is a 1990 astro 19'. It will look funy with my 1978 mercury 150hp black max but oh well. If I buy it that is. This time I WILL BE ANAL as far as looking over everything. The guy is asking a little much in my opinion he wants $875 but I hope I can talk him down. It will need new seats but hey I got brand new ones in my boat lol.
