Johnson 88spl that I like to keep in tip top shape but have limited reference material. SELOc manual touches on some things but is too broad covering many engines. Is there one that covers this engine along with its sisters 90 w vro and others?
Does anyone know where I can get an original OEM for an 88spl?
thanks

I would get a factory certified manual for your case. They have them available on eBay or the Ken Cook Company.

I'm cool with that. I may not be right all the time but most of the time I am. LOL I just looked at the Ken Cook Company and they would be your best bet if you want a new one.

I got all done for now until I get parts (water pump kit, thermos, gaskets, thread lock, sealant, etc)
I just hope hope my local Johnson shop is open tomorrow and has all I need. My wife just asked me if we were going fishing tomorrow...ha! I showed her he motor in a hundred pieces and said "it's a possibility" (my favorite saying)
Oh and I pulled half the floor and carpet up to take pics for my thread on rotten stringer replacement on this Larson 115.

Hahaha good one. "It's a good possibility" Well, if you get your parts early enough, you might. ;) Just make sure that when you get it back together, that you have equal water flow through the thermostat passages. Both banks should run pretty much the same temperature.
