Did you ever just see something and say to yourself: I have to have that?

Well such an opportunity has come up for me. I have been going to the same lake since I was 5. I have such fond memories of our summers on the lake and I have done everything to provide the same for my children.

I remember like it was yesterday, spending every July enjoying the lake and playing ?king of the raft? with my summer friends. I could always hold my own as long as Kenny was not playing (the dude was 6-8, 300lbs when he was 13 years old). Anyways when the Mount rolled into the bay 200 of feet of wake throwing madness, it was always a game changer for the King.

Well I have a chance to purchase a piece of my childhood. Well kinda.

Tubin and skiing is out of the question but I am thinking this would be fun.

The twin 470's will definitely make everyone else on the lake jealous!

Are those statues on the top? What does the inside look like? What an awesome vessel to cruise around in!

If you're serious, you should try and get more pics, I know I for one, would love to see how it's laid out inside. How big is the real Mt Washington?

The Mount Washington Is 187 Feet long

Mini-Mount, a little less than 50'

I am going this weekend to check her out, will take pictures. I know she has bow thrusters too.

That's pretty cool, but I would think that the novelty would wear off pretty quickly.

It looks like it would be a pita to use, difficult to get in & out of, easy to damage things when climbing in & out, possibly hot inside, limited use.

Just playing the devil's advocate here.

Pretty sure the real mount is 225 feet. I'm shocked by the twin 470 HP engine claim for the mini. The real mount only has twin 620 (or so) HP CATs

Twin 470 hp??? I can't imangine that boat holding up to what nearly 1000hp could offer. I think it's very cool but WAY to much nolvelty and far from practical. I love toys but would have a hard time justifying that.

Don't do it. You'll have a useless boat, and I'm not sure that everyone talking about it can make up for that.

Re: I have to have that....

unless it also comes with a Godzilla suit, I'd pass. If I was going to have 50' of boat, I'd want it a little more functional / practical... Like a small tug or something.... or maybe even a sailboat. BTW, something doesn't quite seem right with the scale. If it is 50' and the original is 200' that would make it 1/4 scale, right? Why are the figurines so small compared to the guy on deck (they look like 1/10th scale)... Or maybe the old guy is actually 14' tall?

I think I could find ways to spend $30K that would yield more fun. But that's just MHO.

Re: I have to have that....

Ok so I went to Irwins today with the wife.

Couple of answers....

It hold 4 adults...thats it.
It does have twin 470HP engines.
Even with 940hp, it is not that fast because it is obviously a displacement hull.

I took into account what everbody said here. I heard a lot of novelty comments and you are probably right. But we are talking about buying a little history and a little part of ones youth.

I told the Wife we were going to look at a boat. I did not tell her what boat. When my wife saw the Mini-Mount she did not say a word for like ten minutes. She just stood there while I climbed all over the place, checking everything out. Finally I asked her...."honey what do you think?" She looked at me with that look (you know the one guys, the one that says what kind of morron did I marry?) any ways she looks at me and says: "are you out of your freaking mind?"

Yep, won't be picking this boat up, thanks for the advice.

Actually, in that case you should buy it. :D

I support what you are after, I just think the boat is a poor choice.

Now, can you rent one?

Thanks Sean T.

You have a good point there. If I could bring anything back from my youth...I am thinking a boat would not be the best choice. :D

Imagine if you had gone ahead and bought it without her knowledge then towed it home, parked it in the driveway and said, "Honey come and see what I bought today!" ;)
