Since my son and I got involved in restoring his 1960 Marc Boroda & 40 hp Evinrude twin...I've been eating, sleeping and dreaming boats, motors and fishing. I found an ad and responded to it for a '76 Evinrude 15hp, 13 foot aluminum V-hull and extra fuel tanks. The whole enchilada for 175.00. The engine runs and the guy selling it doesn't know boats & motors. I figure I couldn't go wrong for the money. I LOVE tinkering and restoring all things mechanical.
Also, since I'm basically retired and would fish in a mud-puddle if I thought I could catch something........I just thought I couldn't go wrong. It's getting old having to fish from the bank and since I drive an antique pick-up with an 8-ft flatbed, I figure I could toss the boat on the truck and go.
Maybe it's a bit early to ask if this was a nit-wit move on my part (haven't seen it yet, only pictures), I just had a hard time passing it up.
Thoughts on the 'Rude 15hp ? The 40 HP my son owns has really been cake to work on and if it's little brother the 15 is anything like the big-twin,...I think I'll have done good.
