I boat a 2000 Bayliner Capri 2052 DX cuddy, mercruiser v8, last June 29th. I didn't sign up here until I needed some help. I paid $7900.00 for the boat after a 10 minute ride on the lake. DOH!!! The PO had the boat cover stored UNDER THE BOAT! Seats were moldy, everything was filthy. The temp gauge didn't even work. I know.....I know.....
Once I parted with my 79 crisp one hundred dollar bills, I then log on to see how I did! Stupid huh? The guy I bought it from only owned it 2 years....thank goodness. It would have been totally destroyed in a few more years.
Just wanted to write a thank you to iboats and it's members for all the help I have received so far. I am hopeful I can help others in some fashion one day.
Here is a list of repairs and mods I have completed, thanks to this wonderful resource for boaters, called iboats. You members are a special breed as you help others just because.... you don't expect anything in return or ask for anything, yet you continue to answer the same questions over and over, and help people become better boaters. And I list only the items that I did, I can't even begin to tell you how much I have learned on subject from Anchors to Wakeboarding....
temp sender (non OEM gasket)
Speedo
Faria warranty program (3 faulty gauges)
oil change and type
oil pressure sender
fuel sender
compression test
spark plug analysis
water pump replacmement
impeller replacement
lower and upper mercruiser alpha 1, gen 2 rebuild
trim tabs
propeller (results pending....lol)
waxing
swim platform
stereo upgrade, speaker install, amp, etc...
gps install
Tune - up (complete)
rode how to's (anchor)
alarm replacement
ignition switch (pending)
FREE manuals (free hell, try PRICELESS)
THANKS!
Happy Boating,
David
