I keep loosing ignition coils

I keep burning up ignition coils in my DT85 Suzuki outboard. Ive lost the #2 twice and the #3 once. When I replace the bad one everything works fine for a week maybe a month but eventually I loose another coil and when I do it only stops working when it gets hot. This is the third time so I am convinced something is causing this, does anyone know anything about this?

have you checked the operating voltage of your system? if you have lost your regulator and are running high voltages you will wipe out coils pretty quick.

Check the voltage on the engine when running at high RPM. if you are above 15v or so, check into your regulator.
