He guys You guys have helped me get my project
boat /motor(1989 150 hp evinrude) running like a champ for cheap! now i recently acuired a 5hp 1991 mercury and i want to use it as a kicker but the shift handle is missing the metal part of it is still there
its the plastic handle thats gone. I tried posting in the mercury forum but not one person responded so maybe you guys can help again . i was just wondering if i can just replace the plastic piece or if i have to take it apart internally when i get a new one? also do you guys know where i can find the parts i need?
thanks

Re: i know this isnt the mercury forum

if you have enough of a stub sticking out you may just be able to fab your own part, otherwise unless the plastic piece was screwed or bolted on I would say you likely have to replace whole piece.

if i got it right this is your part number 813027 SHIFT LEVER $27.58
looks like you will have to replace it all at one time, surprised the merc folks didn't help you out. then again OMC guys are just nicer and friendlier.

hope i dont get flamed for helping on the merc issue in the omc room
