I finally pulled my fingers and got me a 13x19 pitch prop to replace the 17 i have on my boat. It a s/s painted prop and the guy who sold it to me called it "salt water special" or something like that. I got it for a song and it is mint. But it's black and remembering last year when i sanded, primed and painted my other prop, only to have it polished on a sand bar. So i figured, what the heck, i'll removed the paint and polish the darn thing myself and be done with it. Oh my, was i in for load of work! First of all, the casting is rougher cuz it's suppose to be painted right? So i had to smooth that out, then use like 4 different cut of sand paper, then a polishing roloc wheel and at last, a polishing foam cone (works great). It took for ever and once i started of course i couldn't just stop. Here's a couple before and after pictures.
I think it's not bad, like a 20/20 (20ft distance and 20 mph it looks great).

Al.

Looks good. That is some hard work there. Don't you hate when you start those projects that you HAVE to finish. Now it looks shiny and might catch the eye of a thief more easily. Shoot some paint on that skeg and you will be looking real good!

Tx 90stingray! As far as security goes, i store my boat at the airport, on the apron side, believe or not. 20ft high fence with concertina, patrolled area, closed circuit tv camera. You can a leave a gold bar on the ground and it'll still be there tomorrow! And the skeg well, next in line monday or tuesday.
