Re: I need a bigger boat!

I went from a 15 to an 18, and now there's this darned 21 that's been for sale for 2 months. I need to buy it. I've determined that only after you've maxed out your storage space, and then borrowed a little room from the neighbors yard, have you reached the ultimate sized boat for you. I spend nights scheming on how to wedge that 21 footer into my yard. I may have to knock down the garage.

I have really got the bug for more ocean boating after a few trips in Boston Harbor and around Plum Island. I am thinking 24 footer. My 17' bowrider does not cut it anymore so I need a bigger boat!

Lucky for you they have them on sale right now!

A little money down, a little money every month... you're happy, they're happy... everyone's happy!

I got bit by that bug a few months back. I was perfectly happy with my 16 footer on the local lakes until I went down to the cape and saw all of the bigger boats out there. So I went and got myself a 24 foot fixer-upper and dumped more money than I care to admit into it. But is it fun? Oh hell yes it is!

I went last weekend on it with a couple of friends (out of Onset) out into Buzzard's Bay and then up the canal into Cape Cod Bay. I'm thinking this weekend there may be a boat trip to Provincetown. It's definately an obsession.

I went from a 16' to and 18'. It was a good move since the 18' is bigger in every dimension. However, it just fits in my garage with only like an inch to spare. As I don't want to pay for storage, I think the 18' will be it for me for a while.

I hear you loud and clear. I am looking for a 30-34' cabin cruiser. I will keep my Nova 210 though, unless I find a smoking deal on a Formula 242...

Understand that a boat twice the size doesn't cost twice as much to own. It's cost? :D

And no, I don't want a bigger boat. It already cost me over $500 to fill it up and that will only last a long weekend if we're fishing.

I can so agree with the 'cost squared' comment!! Bigger has advantages, but there's alot to be said for smaller too!! Dingbat; your fill up would give me about 1/2 tank in the Carver- wouldn't ge me real far either!!

I modified my winch stand, added a swing tongue and bought a longer tow bar for the truck. Pretty sure a 20 foot boat with outboard will fit diagonally into a 20 x20 garage, you just have to kick out the wife's vehicle.

We share a commuting car. Everyone suffers in that scenario. FAIL! :p
