Number of cylinders wouldn't make any difference. However, the systems are different, and without diagrams and service manuals, I couldn't tell you what they are.
I don't mess with small engines, unless they're on a lawnmower. Now V6 mercs is another story.
That's what Sschefer messes with, so if he has one, it shoud fit.
Lots of guys systematically tear off the oil systems. Check on any fast boats forum and you'll find one in somebody's junk heap.
I just mentioned that I had used my last spare, and someone took it on themselves to send me one. Said something about appreciating my help.
