I need a new choke ...Force 125

I have a 1988 Force 125 model# 1251X8A. I am looking for a new/used choke. Does anyone know where I can pick one up? I live in Salt Lake city, Utah but will get it anywhere I can.<br /><br />Thanks

Do you mean the solenoid that activates the choke?<br />Or the actual mechanical choke parts (shutter, shaft) ?<br /><br />The solenoid is no longer available from Mercury.<br />It was originally part number F654924.<br />It was then replaced with part number 89-803629T, $35.<br /><br />Best place to find one is ebay, or a local shop that has a scrap pile.<br /><br />If you need the shaft or shutter, they are available from Mercury.

I'll bet it just needs adjusting. It won't pull if it's out of adjustment. Push the plunger all the way down. There should be ever so slight of a gap on all shutters, none should close completely, but about 99.9%. Loosen the clamp to adjust the solenoid. In the past I've had to unhook one or two of the choke butterfly springs, the others will still keep it operating correctly.

ok its arco telephone # 1-850-455-5476 choke solenoid 22.95 plunger 14.95. they are located in florida let me know if this helps.

what part exacatly is it? yup roscoe they are making them i got one 2 months ago the salesman said he,s got about a hundred of them in stock so i guess theres a demand for them.

Katchem, your part number is a Mercury part number.<br />I'm sure ARCO has their own numbers.<br /><br />I would call their 800 number and ask them which one you need.<br /><br />Or check with a Mercury dealer, they may have them in the stockroom.

katchem..keep us updated on this.. i'm having a choke problem too...sometimes it works..sometimes it doesnt.
