So my plug won't hold tight anymore, I noticed the threads are pretty worn down. I took on ALOT of water on my last outing. The guy I bought the boat from 5 years ago said it was hard to find. I have a 1964 17' Crestliner fiberglass. The plug is in the floor, its plastic, I measured its 7/8" I've attached a picture of the hole from the bottom and the plug itself. Anyone know where I can get one??

I've tried the rubber twist in and snap lock type and they all leak, I Think it has to be threaded to seal

How are the threads in the floor drain? The plug didn't look too bad in the pic, if the detail showed.

This is more of a SWAG, but you might take the plug to a hardware store to try to match size and thread. I can't tell if it's pipe thread. Like I said, guessing some.

yeah the picture doesn't show it well but the top 1/4 are good the bottom 3/4 are really worn out. I don't even know if a plug like this would have another use.

Did a quick search on ebay - there's a ton of them there.

Just did a search for 'threaded boat plug.' What you need is the same thread type as the one you have...

I agree with GA_Boater...check the local hardware or plumbing store...you should be able to find a pipe plug with the same threads, but made out of brass and with a square drive head...just be careful threading it in to the bung, use some Anti-seize lubricant to prevent galling...
Another, somewhat extreme option, is to remove the entire bung and replace it with a new version...If you use a Marine sealant like 3M 5200, it will seal up most any sins you find after removal, and a modern plug with be easier to find replacements for...
Best of luck.

Went to home depot, its actually 3/4". I got one of the square head plugs. I'm not sure if it'll hold or not. The current plug has a rubber gasket on it and I know without it there it leaks.

I thought about removing it and putting in a new plug but I'd like to avoid that.

Get a 3/4" x1" long pipe nipple and a 3/4" pipe cap. install the cap on the nipple and put the oring on the nipple below the cap. screw into the drain until the cap hits the outlet and seals against it with the oring.
Problem solved. Use thread tape on all the threads or 4200 marine sealant. Use 5200 on the cap to nipple threads.
