I'd start looking around on lake bottoms if I were you! For $200 on the other hand, there are a lot of those sort of boats sitting in peoples' yards. If you knock on some doors you could get a real deal. I got a boat motor and trailer plus som acc. for $100 last year. It's a really great boat too after a little scrubbing!

I couldn't find anything under $200. Anything with a trailer is $300 min. Add old motor $500. I found the ugliest 14 ft John for $300. No leaks, trailer needed, lights, bearings, tires. Good thing is no one will steal the ugliest boat in the world.

Calico Kid I have to go shopping with you. You got a great deal somewhere near me. I live in Pardeeville. I bought the boat north of Minocqua.

Scoop, that stuff is just sitting in backyards everywhere. A friend of mine bought a starcraft 14' runabout from an old lady for $100 around the same time I found mine. He noticed it sitting in her yard doing nothing for half the summer and decided to ask her if she would sell. She had no use for it any longer (I think it was her kids' boat when they were younger) and was glad to see it go! It also had a trailer to pull it home with, but it was junky.
P.S. mine is a 14' Shell Lake F.G. with redwood gunwales and ******hook.

Calico, I defnitely have to open my eyes. Guess I was looking for th wrong type of boat. The 14Ft Jon is the perfect fit for the lakes I usually fish. Haven't fished Lake Wisconsin yet.
