I just got something new to this area, it is wireless high speed internet. I am in a rural area so cable is not here and too far away from phone company so dsl is not available so a new company has formed to take care of rural needs. they share towers with television station repeaters on some of the local hills and if you can see the light on the tower you are a candidate. you have to buy an antenna router and what they call a radio for about $250. they come out and set it up and 39.00 per month and you are in business. pages load a lot faster and uploading and downloading files is lightning fast. I can even load acrobat pages quick now.

On the news the other night I saw where they are testing an electrical hook up which requires these little packs you plug into a socket. You can move them anywhere in the house. They claim its better than DSL and cable. I'll try to find an article on it, but they said it will be available soon and its best way to go. No mention on what it will do to your electric bill.

hello, i pay $60.00 a month and plit it with my neighbor. bought a dsl router and a 100ft cat5 cable and ran it in the atic of my apt. complex. now we can both use the internet at the same time and only pay $30.00 a month. and yes, i am using aol after my bellsouth fastaccess feasco. hope this helps a bit. also lynksis is the only router approved to be use with aol and it does come with a firewall.

One of the companies that is working with internet over the power lines is out here in PA. well to tell the truth, i work for them. they are doing tests here and so far so good.

did you know that cable theft can be a felony did you know that sharing you modem with a neighbor is theft did you know that that takes money out of my pocket did you know that a bad connection on a drop will cause a leak in the system and we will find it and it will put noise in the reverse which can affect your service if i sound mad i am i work vary hard every day on these systems
