I know this could have gone in the trailer section, but thought because it was pontoon specific I might get more help. I am a new pontoon owner (used boat), yet have ridden them for years.... lets just say my trailering skills are slowly getting better, slooooooooooooooooooowly...

I have a scissor trailer and can only find guide ons for the bunk style. Today I had to drop the boat in the driveway to get the trailer straight because it was crooked as hell and my launch sucks as it is (weird drop off, boulders, the boat looks like its tipping over half the time.... but thats another problem). I have a 17ft boat, and a 19 ft trailer. It has two 4"x4" round rollers that hang off the back which are no help at all as there is no boat there and are submerged when in the water, not touching the toons. i need an easy system to bolt on, as i'm not very mechanical.

If you are going to tell me to practice, I have and still am. I am just looking for a system to add to my scissor trailer so i can stop being "that guy" at the launch. The trailer came with the boat so i didn't have a choice, but I thought the scissors were better, but now i'm wishing i would have found a bunk... any help would be great. Thank you.

I have never seen guides on a scissor trailer. The trailer is one big guide all by its self.

Re: i need guide ons for scissor trailer

Well I drop the scissor down but the top of the trailer isn't wide enough to keep me in the middle so 1 of two tires is usually almost touching and sometimes is.

And when I back in, I'm still far out enough that the front of the boat doesn't make it all the way to the front... so when I finally get it on and start to pull out the trailer by truck and by lifting the scissors the back end falls wherever it wants and Usually not in the middle

keep the tips coming :)

I dont know a lot about that type of trailer, the little experience is from helping a friend drop his in and out using my truck and when his settled in it was in the right pace. I am sure you can make.

Might want the guides on the bottom of the boat. Seems like if would be pretty easy.

See.... knew the best answer would be a simple one!! Thanks, I was to focused on the trailer to even think about it that way. I'll just have to see exactly how far the bottom of the boat is away from the trailer when the back of the boat is floating and the scissor is laid down

Every roller trailer I've ever seen, including the one we own - has rollers that come close to contacting the insides of the pontoons at the back of the trailer.

I have those rollers accept my boat is 3 feet shorter than the trailer. Thought about the under boat roller idea. Problem with that is that to be effective the rollers would most likely touch the water. I'm working on a roller to put further in front of the rollers that don't do anything

This may be what you need:

I have a scissor-type trailer....the kind that is not made for scissoring, and I find it very easy to get the boat on straight. Perhaps you should not scissor-down so much when pulling the boat out.
