i need some help with a prop question

i have a 1987 merc 20 hp 2 stroke outboard with a long shaft on a small 10 foot boat with a 15 in transom and while fishing at night dident see where i drifted started the motor and needless to say the 4 blade comprop the motor had is now a 3.5 blade prop my cash flow is real low but while scavageing the shop i work at i came across a honda ( ok dont kill me with flames about wanting to use this prop ) prop that has less pitch and diamater but its a 10 spline too and looks like it will fit though i wont know till probbly monday night being i tore the gearbox down tonight to replace the driveshaft and shift shaft to convert it to a short shaft so i wont have as many problems with my motor and the bottom again i also shuld add that rpms on my engine and speed are not a issue being the boat is only overpowered by 10 horsepower i just need a prop to get myself moveing so i can keep fishing

If you go to the iboats prop store and look up a prop for the merc and the honda see if the numbers match.My guess is no.Let us know what you find.
While your surely not going to lug your motor you might over rev unless you just putt around.

well ive alreddy taken the prop from the honda and placed it on the mercury propshaft i just dont know if i gotta add a thick washer on the prop nut end to take up any possible slack boath the honda 25 and my merc 20 are 10 spline shafts so one fits the othere fine

well it works honda 10 spline props from the BF 25-30 WILL work on a 20 hp mercury with the additon of a spacer between the prop and prop nut only thing is the prop im useing is i think a 11 pitch and i had a 13 so i lost some of my top speed but other than that it works fine

Hello!am nevoie de o alica pentru motor johnson 6 hp,anul de fabricatie 2006,4 timpi.cine ma poate ajuta? Sau se poate folosi si alt tip de elica?si mai am probleme la pornire.porneste foarte greu.
