Hi all I am needing some help with something I don't know much about. I have a 15.5 glassport boat with a 9.9 evinrude on it now. I got the boat from my grandpa since he is getting to old to go anymore. His dream was to get a bigger motor and use the 9.9 as a kicker, but he never got to do it. Well I have a friend who sold me a 1994 40hp Mercury Mariner Magnum dirt cheap. Well I want to put it on the boat and take my grandpa fishing one day when he feels up to it. I only have one problem the Mariner is hand controlled and I want to change it to pilot powered, but I don't know where to start. I am not stupied when it comes to motors but when it comes to a outboard I got alot of learning to do. I have searched online for help and can't find anything. I need to know what to do from start to finish pretty much. If anybody could help me that would be great.
