I am a project manager for a contracting firm, and I am trying to design a facility to manufacture my custom bay boats. I was thinking of building a test pool or compartment into the facility where I can dunk a new design prototype or just want to test a customers boat for boyancy, but I don't want to make it seem like I over thought the idea.

I think a 15'x25' maybe 3' deep concrete pool, maybe inside the building, would work but I don't know if it makes good sense to do it. I also wouldn't mind making a longer more narrow one to test scale models of designs that don't make it into prototyping.

Many boat building companies have "wet test" pools either inside or outside. Just figure out what thw biggest boat you will be testing and make it long, wide and deep enoughr to accomodate it. Maybe even design it so to can back the boat in with a trailer or work dolly.

I'll be mainly be looking to build 8'x24' bay boats and wanted to do something that I can also use as a showroom feature when ever we didn't have something being tested.

Have you seen anyone who has photos of theirs on their website or videos of a test or something?

They're nothing special, just a cement pit of whatever size you need, you need to make it about 5' deep or so, so you can test the motor. The water needs to be filtered like a pool to keep it clean.

If you want to contact someone locally PM me and I can hook you up.
