I/O Conversion

I'm looking to either replace an existing I/O for a 73 Chris Craft Lancer (307 Chevy) or convert it over to an outboard. I'm trying to weigh all my options, mostly price, and any help or where to get help in the matter would be greatly appreciated. i live in central florida near Vero Beach, so if anyone knows a shop that would be off assistance, that would be great too, thanx!!

Repower with an I/O. There is lot of work involved in converting to an outboard, and if you have to pay a shop to do it, it will cost a fortune. Besides, a current 4.3V6 will match that engine for power, and be lighter. BUT a new 350 will give you that nice exhaust growl you are used to and provide a significant power gain.
