I/O leak

Anybody know what this could be? Leaking from the top of the outdrive. Strong fluid smell. Took the boat out yesterday it wan't leaking. Today I discovered. Seems like a small slow leak, maybe a couple tablespoons so far. I am suppose to be taking it out on the lake for a couple hours tomorrow.

It looks to me like the o-ring on the top of the drive unit might need to be replaced. Remove the four bolts on the top of the drive, and have a look. To me it looks like the gear lube in there might be mixed with a bit of water. So you might want to have that drive pressure tested as well.
