i have a 1979 chaparral 21' some creep stole my out drive i need to know what model merc i/o i have can some one help me thanks

i for got the engine is a 305 ci chev.

IF all is Original, it should be a Mod.1... in 1.50/1 ratio.....OR it could be updated to an Alpha1...... difference is lenth of the input shaft... Mod.1, shaft is about 8" long... Alpha1 is about 9" long....you can use either outdrive.... just use the proper input shaft to match your transom assembley....<br /><br />Bondo
