yes, i/o's make better sking and tubiong boats because they make great wakes. yeah yeah yeah.<br /><br /><br />you cant make a wake when your motor is trashed cause you didnt drain all the water outa your exhaust and it dribbled down into your crankcase, since your 4 stroke inboards intake and / or exhaust valves were still open.

or you could leave your outboard at full tilt and freeze it during the winter.<br /><br />i love my outboard, but if i wanted a ski boat, i'd go for an i/o or v drive.

i no they use outboards at all the pro water ski events because they are so much better for skiing <br /><br /><br />tommays

I've got a 1986 19' cuddy w/ 150hp Johnson outboard. Wakeboarding/tubing is fine for us - wake isn't that big, but that's OK. I want to switch to I/O to reduce the exhaust smell (2 cycle VRO) and to get a full swim platform. I'm thinking I'll go up to around 22' to get a little more room. I hope I can manage the extra effort at the ramp, though.

Thanks for the info...I have arranged to trade boats for a one week trial for both parties and then we can make an informed decision.
