Re: I sure miss Bill Clinton!

"His lack of knowledge of Canada, the largest trading partner of the US, did not impress our northern neighbors too much..."

Daaamn, you mean a bench mark for electing a President should be a favorable impression on Canadians? Next you'll be telling us you found someone who thinks their impressions are relevent to anything outside their borders? Give it a rest, he made a favorable impression on those who matter ... twice!

Actually ole Bill is having the time of his life since he left office, and he's been making more money than he's ever made before, its the first time that he is earning more than his wife.

Yea, that's exactly what I told a group of managers of timber companies in Canada yesterday when they found out that even with the latest Canadian victory in the softwood tariff battle, the dispute will probably continue on, despite the fact that the decision was final and not subject to appeal.

The Americans are holding some 5 billion dollars of their money in illegally collected tariffs (per the binding NAFTA ruling), And your American tax money is going to fund the lawyers to continue fighting a case they cannot win, because a few large timber companies in the south made big campaign contributions, and have their eyes on that 5 billion.

I told them Americans don't care about anyone else, they don't care about the merits of the case, and they sure as heck don't care about being fair--all they care is about getting their way and winning.

When Canada starts playing hardball, and does something like turning off the cross border natural gas line, then they might get the attention of the Americans, and not before. You can argue what's fair and right till the cows come home, and it will not make any difference.

"The Americans are holding some 5 billion dollars of their money in illegally collected tariffs..."

Guess the Americans don't see it that way ... and the guy with the most money usually wins.

X,

This is a boot camp for fledgling posters. We are here to knock you down, so we can build you up stronger and wiser.

How are things going in Kosovo? Who put us there?

If Monica wasn't under the desk at the time the preditor had a bead on UBL would we be here now?

Any idea what Sandy Burgler was stuffing down his pants and socks.

It doesn't take 4 years to develop and build nuclear weapons like say, N. Korea, Iran. Who was driving the bus while this was going on.

If the Clinton coffers get a little low I guess he can no longer pardon a few RICH ex-patriated contributors.

I bet everything I own that Laura Bush doesn't have supeoned billing records under the bed in the White house she "forgot" about.

What part of Bush's oil program would you change? I would drill in Alaska, but there some who think that insects are more important than human lives.

Bush bashers told us that gas prices would go down during the election cuz GW's buddies would do this to ensure his election. The same types then blamed him for higher gas prices. Pick a card any card.

Just a note, don't get mad - get even!!! :D

Welcome aboard, the passengers here are a little rough around the edges but the view is priceless.

KK, great post, from the first "black" comedian, speaking about the first "black" president.

DJ, PW2 lives in Sault St. Marie, they fly the Canadian flag above the American flag up there. Trust me, I've been to the U.P.

Erik,

So have I. Half of my family is from there.

But, they got out before all that iron in the ground changed their internal compass-permanently. ;)

I said the same thing about my Onion article and it got zapped or poofed or whatever. If you can't take a joke, don't bother reading this forum. If you don't have a good sense of humor, you're better off dead.

yes, but please, keep posting that opinion. If you're being attacked, that means they can't attack the substance, only the messenger. It's pretty common around here.
