Re: I think i broke my boat

Thanks guys for the advice. I like the, " we all like projects when we don't have tp work on them or pay" LOL. I hear ya.
Knowing me, I will probably dig deeper into it, because i try to make everything perfect, and like some say, the damage might have already been there, just not as apparent.
In answer to chriscraft, he checked the hull by sound. Going around and tapping, and feeling the bounce back. And, i hit a double wake off of two oncoming boats.
Next year, i will address the rot in the floor, and check below more.

I promise you that knocking on the hull will not show you damage under the skin. For one, all parts of the boat will be different thicknesses and that will exude a different sound from different areas of the boat. Just saying this, so you don't rely on that report.

I don't think you are in any danger of sinking the boat, just want you to be aware that damage can go unseen on boats for years including rott. Good luck with her. Budd

Man you must really gotten some air time to do damage like that, even with some rotted wood! Ive got an '89 2455 and have had the whole boat out of the water a time or two before I learned not to underestimate the size of approaching wakes (epically from barges under tow that are sitting low in the water), but aside from a mighty big splash and some jarring there has been no damage. Looks like you have a nice sized spring project. Best of luck with her.
