Great news ee. Glad the boat is more than you expected. It sounds like your going to be a proud owner. :)

When is the test ride?

Congrats! Sounds and looks like a nice, well maintained, used boat. Should hustle nicely with that engine too.

The dealer shows "convertible top" in the options column...

Re: I think I found one...

Wanted to add: It is perfectly acceptable and recommended to pay a premium price for a "cream puff". That boat appears to qualify for "cream puff" status. Do not worry if you find the same make and model cheaper elsewhere, you'll be hard pressed to find a better maintained boat than that one appears to be. It still looks new to me.

A stainless steel 4 blade prop would be my first change if it were mine. I could not believe the difference it made in my old 21 foot, 5.0 Merc powered boat when I went from a 23" aluminum 3 blade to a 20" SS 4 blade. Top speed went up 3 MPH, holeshot improved dramatically, and midrange punch (30 to 50 MPH) felt like a muscle car.

Funny story about selling that old boat: During the test drive, I told the guy who bought it from me to "punch it" while we were cruising at 30 MPH. The big silly grin on his face as he was pressed into the back of the seat told me it was sold... He still has it and we're still friends.

Before you drive away you should inspect the bellows for leaks and general condition. Maybe his records show when they were changed last. Also, check the records for a water pump replacement. You don't want your maiden voyage to be a disaster. If you are unsure about both of those, add those to your list as first items to change.. If you find holes in the exhaust or drive bellows, you could mak a case for them to fix it since it was a pre-existing condintion and that running it will surely result in a warranty claim that would be more expensive..
