I think i have a cloge

i think i have a clog in my cooling system. water pump is good and pumps water at low speed but not at high speed. the t-stat is out of the motor so i know its not that. how can i flosh it out or get in ther to see if it is cloged up. when i took out the t-stas it was only the frame left i think the rest of it is inside the motor.

Have you checked the water pump housing for pitting ??? Mine was pitted and would pump good at low speeds but at higher speeds the water would apparently blow by the pitted area and not cool. Another possible cause is the impeller spinning on the shaft.

thanks, i do have a new water pump i just haven't replaced it yet. i'll try the new one and let you know. Thanks for the advice.

I forgot to mention: Put your thermostat back in. The engine will develop hot spots without them. They were designed to run a thermostat.
