Bondo, are you running the 1409 on a 4.3L?<br /><br />I would assume you went to a "fatter" needle to "lean" it out some?

Glad to hear you have it going. <br />The Vortec heads actually require less timing in most applications due to the fast burn design of the combustion chamber Normally depending on the camshaft timing they will make the best power with less than 34* total timing.
