Today I picked up a 1970-71 ward 6hp model vwb27006a for 25bucks! The motor was seized but upon opening the cowl, it looked new! I brought her home and opened her up. Since it wouldn't turn over, i researched how to unseize a outboard with many people saying to use penatrating oil or wd40. It's a little over midnight so auto part stores are closed  Anywho, attached are pictures. There seems to be rust on both cylinder walls, the fluid is wd40.

Question is
-Do you guys think this motor would free up or should I take apart the block?

both pistons near TDC I find that a bit odd ....one near TDC and the other near BDC would be normal ..do I feel a broken con rod or crank comming on ??? For this reason I think you should pull everything off at the carb end and expose the crank ....

If of course he pespective of he picture is wrong and they are both half way down that changes he situation.....the crank should move very slightly ..soak for as long as you can ....get a round bit of wood to match the bore size and use to hit one piston ..see if the other moves ..then go to the other piston ..when you have it moving you are almost there ...otherwise remove to get access ....you will still end up wacking it out .....cooling piston with a plumbers feezing kit also works wonders ...

With the amount of rust that appears under the penetrating oil, you may as well disassemble it. That rust will get all over everything. Drive out the pistons and lightly hone the block. Then clean everything well.

Be aware that some of these smaller engines used two sets of rollers on the big end of the rod. About 40 of them riding in a split liner inside an aluminum rod. Very interesting assembly but they can be miserable to get back in. New ones come waxed to a paper sheet.
