Can anyone help me? Please?

There has been so many problems with the boat. Most problems have been fixed, but can't figure this one out. The boat will crank but won't fire up. I have recently replaced the ignition module in hopes that it will fix the problem, but i guess that was just an expensive replacement. Checked the fueling and fuel is spraying into the throttle body. So i checked the relay fuses for the fuel pumps and ignition? I switched those two fuses and fuel is still spraying, so there's no problems with the fuses. I checked for spark from the ignition coil to the distributor and there's power. What can it be?

Five weeks ago the boat stalled and would not fire up. I got it back home and it fired up the next day with no problems and had the engine flushed. Two weeks later it wouldnt fire up so I replaced the ignition module. Now it just sites there and cranks.

Thanks in advance!!!

Do you have fuel and spark at the plugs at the same time?

I'm going to check this weekend if there's fuel and spark at the same time. Where should i check for spark? I was told to pull the wire off the sparkplug and stick another spark plug in there. Then I need to put the spark plug near metal and see if there's spark. Not sure if this is the right way to go. I dont want to get fried.

In case no one has noticed, all those links are for Mercruiser, and since I work on both Merc and Volvo, I can tell you they are not the same.
If you don't have the proper Volvo Service manuals, the proper tools to check the systems, you are SOL.
You are now stuck with replacing parts, (expensive parts,) till you happen upon the cause of the problem (If you do).
EFI engines and the old carbed engines are not the same, and Marine FI is not the same as automotive FI.
If you want to run EFI on a boat, then you need the EFI tools and manuals......... and they ain't cheap.

If you go to your local NAPA store, they have a spark tester. It'll look like a spark plug with an alligator clip soldered to the side of it. They make ywo versions; one for points and one for elctronic ignition. Get one of the ones for HEI (electronic ignition). Remove one wire from one spark plug and install it on the tester, then clip the tester to a good ground on the block. If your spark can jump that gap, the ignition system is good. If it doesn't, then start backtracking. My money is cap and rotor if you had good spark from the coil.
