I want to build a fiberglass 15' speedboat hull & cap but don't really know how to build a mold. I want to build something within a reasonable amount of money. Can someone lead me onto how to build the mold for both the heull and cap.

wow! an old GT-150! love the lines on these. Tubtoy, you have a point I dont plan on making 50 hulls out of 1 mold so might as well just get a hull and build it up, slap on a tower o' power and go!

Exactly my point! I noticed you liked the old Glastrons and I figured you'd see my way......

I'm thinking about picking this one up and making my own speed classic

He's been advertising this for MONTHS at $700-$750.....I'm going to offer him $650.

Yeah look around old speed boats are everywhere.

I've even seen them given away on screamandfly.com forum.

Located nearby here, they were offering a stripped hull for less than $2K.
No windshield, just empty hull.
Thats not a tinted windshield btw, its painted fiberglass.

Those boats attract too many wild chicks,
then what are ya gonna do.?

Mine is plywood with a fiberglass skin,just another thing to think about.

just to update you.....

I picked up that CV16 (not a GT150)that was in the photo for $250! Then I went and put a '76 Merc 150hp on the back for $500

So.....
I have a running '76 150hp Tower of Powered '74 CV16 that needs an interior, floor, custom fiberglass work, and paint job that will be in the water by June 1, 2010!!!!!! So far I have $750 invested and I'll be doing all the work for myself.....here's my budget:

Floor AND Carpet $175
Interior AND Seats $150
Fiberglass work on Transom/Splashwell $75
Paintjob $200

Total of $600 till I'm done! I have a $200 buffer so we'll see how close I can stay at the $600 mark.......
