Re: I want to open a sporting good store

First off, most everybody in this town knows who I am, I have been here my whole life, with the exception of my brief stint in Arkansas, and I have a very good reputation. As far as people on the water fishing? Last weekend there were so many boat trailers at the ramp, you had to walk a mile once parked, no kidding. It will be like that until after Labor Day too. There are no sporting good shops in this area, and people around here do not like the crowd at Cabelas. I want to cater to hunters and fisherman, and thats it. I dont want to compete with the bigger stores, I am just wanting about a 4-5000 sq ft show room. OBJ, I would like to pick your brain, I will email you my number if you will call me.

I know that there is a member here that has one, but I dont remember who it was. I would like to know what it will take as far as operating capital, and startup money. I have a site picked for it. It is right in the middle of town, lots of traffic. The closest sporting good store is 45 minutes away in Fort Worth. I am centered between two big lakes, Bridgeport and Eagle Mountain. This is something that I have wanted to do for a long time, and I think that now is the time.

Just wondered how you are doing.
