heres a sidetrack. Do any of you have norton antivirus? I joined a yahoo group and since I have been getting 3 or 4 virus alerts a day. Most are norton antivirus yellow screen warnings, but a bunch are redscreen warnings in which the virus is in a nav.tmp file and access to it is denied by norton antivirus. Then the harddrive light goes off for some 10 seconds till the email file downloads. I am wondering if the virus is somehow working its magic during those 10 seconds?

KaGee, it is clearly from joining a yahoo group. In fact, when logged on to those groups is when I get most of the viruses. I have started doing secure logons, but think when you join a yahoo group, your email address gets harvested. It's a motorcycle group...ok

SCO, hmmmmm, I belong to several and have never gotten any from none of them that I recall.<br />Maybe if you haven't already, bring it up to the moderator of the group and see if he has any idea or is getting any.<br /><br />Have you run ad-aware6.0? or stinger to find it on your machine maybe.<br />They are both free and you can run them anytime you want.

I got the adaware, and found 9 "alexa's, but doubt that is what norton has been fighting. I think norton is fighting typical email spawned viruses, but who knows. Thanks for the heads up SBN.

it seems that ANTI virus is big big bussiness, i don't have a clue how to make one, dont wanna, wouldnt if i did, but, NORTON IS SURE MAKEIN A BUNDLE. FIGURE
