Gee's talk about incompetent!!! 
<br /><br />For the last six weeks we've been having power cuts. Every time we've phoned the power company and been told "There's nothing showing up on our system" and that's been it.<br />At the weekend we suffered a grand total of 14 power-outs! 14 times the power just shut down. Got to the stage it wasn't safe using anything electrical.<br />Power company still saying "nothing showing on the system, it must be your house electrics, have you checked?"<br />"oh sorry, silly me, of course I've £$%%^£%& checked!!" <br /><br />Now despite the denials from teh company that anything was wrong and that an entire village (and it's one horse) was suffering power-outs, all of a sudden the road is dug up, guys are drinking tea everywhere while leaning against vans and trucks and that teeth whistling sound fills the air.<br /><br />But that isn't the best bit...........yesterday a note was pushed through the letterbox......<br /><br />"Date: 03 Feb 06<br /><br />Dear Customer,<br /><br />we regret that we are experiencing technical difficulties with the power supply in your area<br />and we are attempting to resolve these on the 29 Feb 06.<br />Due to this work on the 23 Feb 06 your power will be disconnected from 0700-1600.<br /><br />During this time, 0900-1700, you may experience difficulties using power appliances.<br /><br />If, during the hours when the power is off, 0630-1730, you are infirm or require assistance, please contact our helpline on...........(there's no number printed!) and one of our service representatives will assist you.<br /><br />It is expected that power will be reconnected by 12 Mar 07 and we apologise in advance for this minor inconvenience."<br /><br />I've cut out some of the other gobble-de-gook but I'd love someone to tell me when the power is actually going out and when it's coming back on.......surely not 12 March 2007?????????<br /><br />I spoke to the guy that was left to guard the hole in the ground and he shrugged his shoulders and said "It's tomorrow guv" <br /><br />So that's why my blood pressure is high and you won't see any posts from Stan or the Deezy Clan today (and stop cheering RP!)
