Since it went down a month or so ago, it's been a lot slower than it used to be. used to be even on dial up when you clicked on a thread it would pop right open. Now there's always a little delay, 5 to 10 sec. Today that delay is running 15 to 25 seconds. Several times recently I've had to give up all together.

I always check out a couple of other sites just to make sure it's not my IP.

Well, it's a lot slower than it used to be. Can't imagine that a different browser would make much difference when all the other sites I've tried seem to be operating normally. I get the feeling that with every click I'm loading massive amounts of data. Oh well, learn to live with it or move on, I guess.

I think a lot of it has to do with all those boat forums. Last year the home page (cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi) was 63Kb, now it has balloned to 190Kb plus sundries!

Too bad they didn't just stuff the lot in a sub-group somehow. What ever happened to the 40k homepage?

Based on the "New Post" images I see everytime I log on down there I don't think that many people do either Paul........

You would be surprised at the difference a browser makes. IE to me is slow on many sites so I have since completely stopped using it. Firefox was better, but I dont like the way their user profiles are set up.......found Opera, and that seems to be the fastest by far amongst the 3. Today, I thought the site was moving pretty fast, the menus and threads popped up instantly.............I agree with Paul the boat manufacture forums arent helping, but this problem comes up from time to time and it seems like IE might be part of the problem too.
