We're in the final stages of putting my 19' I/O BR back together. The only seats not back in are the two jump seats which had we're rotted (the base wood is still OK). I re-used the original vinyl on all the other seats i rebuilt so I expect i'll do the same on the jump seats. This is a matter of cutting a seat bottom from plywood, cutting the new foam then pulling the original vinly over it. It is then set on top of the base (removable to get at the battery, etc.)
What I DON'T want to re-use are the very heavy, starting to rot wood jump seat bases. What I really want is just the plastic base I see with new, fairly cheap jump seats sold. However, i am yet to find a source for just the plastic base and I don't plan to buy full jump seat units because I won't use the seat part. Alternately, I guess i can make new ones and keep them lighter than the originals. I'd much prefer to by a cheap plastic base though. Carpet covers the exposed front of the base so almost anything should look OK.
Ideas??? Thanks.
