When I purchased my boat it had several old rusty down rigger mounts on it. I removed them and do not plan to put new ones in. Also there were two old pitted chrome vents with 3 inch holes. I use portable gas tanks and they sit back by the transom. I'm not sure why the vents were put there. There is plently of ventilation.

Anyone have any ideas on how to easy cover or fill these holes in? I'm not too good at fiberglassing.

I was thinking of buying non skid white adhesive pads and cutting them to fit. The only problem is I can't find them locally and I try not to buy items inexpensive items online since the shipping is usually as much as the item. Lowe's and Walmart did not have anything remotely like I was looking for.

This is what I'm trying to find. The one with the largest width.

If you have a 3 inch hole in a FRP deck, cut a treated plywood disc about 2 7/8 inch diameter. Plug the hole with it, fastening it on the underside with duct tape, completely sealing any gaps. Make sure the top is just slightly below flush. Then lard polyester resin on to the top of it to cement it in place. You can then remove the duct tape, sand the top surface smooth, and give it a spray coat of gel coat.

A small piece of teak just big enough to cover the hole will do quite nicely.
