Identify 20 hp Chrysler outboard

Model number is 207119B and is in the Uk.

My brother in law bought a Chrysler outboard which was pumping water but after a few weeks has stopped pumping water completely. I'm used to inboard diesels and can't find an impeller pump to check....

The number you posted above is too long unless you added the serial number at the end. If model is 20711 then it is from 1967. Impeller is in the lower unit. Part number for replacement should be Quick silver F436065 or a sierra 18-8903. These impellers are for a 1978 20 HP and I assume they will work for yours as well. Parts on the internet do not go back that far.

Hi,look closley again at your model number it could be 207H9B.This is a 1979 20hp electric start.I have a parts manual if you need a part number.You can PM me.As you will find out parts for these motors are hard to find in good old Blighty.I get my spares from family in the USA.Cheers Nathan

I too another look and the number is 207H9B, serial number 1585.

Impeller number for that one is F458065

Yes impeller part number is 458065.I doubt Bill Higham has any.Parts for these are hard to come by in the UK.I buy all my spares in the USA.Take a look on the American ebay site.There is usually one for sale.Complete part listings and explode diagrams are freely available on the net from a few American sites.Try Doug Russell Marine.Click on parts catalog then chrysler and navigate from there.Good luck.Nathan

Looks like I'll have to order from Doug Russel as the US ebay site does not have any.

Incidently, where is the impeller on the engine? The exploded diagrams are very grainy and I couldn't determine where the impeller is.

This is from clymer so it is generic to all 20 hp to 50 gear housing.

I tried to separate the lowe unit with the impellor in it but I cannot get the drive shaft to withdraw. I didn't want to force it in case there's a pin or bolts to undo to allow the drive shaft to come out.

Anyone have any instructions on how to do this or a link to a service manual that describes the process of changing the impeller?
