Hi Guys/Girls.
I am doing some maintenance on our Yacht Clubs launch, and the Mercury Outboard does not have a cover, so I don't know what HP it is. I need a new water pump impeller, but can't identify the motor. The transom clamp has the sticker, but no numbers on it......the engine has the alloy disc with the large M on it and the number 9607172. Its a single cyl' 2 stroke, probably about 8hp, Fwd and Rev' gears. Integral fuel tank.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Neil

After you have 3 posts you can then post some photos....I think most of the single cylinder motors are 4.5hp or less... And the integral fuel tank should fall in the same range.... And not all of the smaller single cylinders have fwd and rev so with some pictures someone here should be able to identify it for you....

I think you will find that the numbers on the disc are also the serial numbers of the motor. I did some searching and did not find any single cylinder motors with the numbers you stated.
