Identify my motor.

I have an 1985 19' Renken with a OMC 4 cylinder engine that I'm trying to identify. The model number on the side sticker shows 252FTHROOM, i belive it was produce in 1984. On top of it I can see an old sticker that is missing the beginning of the word xxxTRE. I've included a small picture. Any help is greatly appreciated!

looks like a GM 4 cyl, 2.5 liter??

A search for that number you provided turned up an old add on craigslist:

It is probably a 252STHRCOM not OOM, which is a 2.5L engine from 1985.
There is no such thing as an OOM

ah yes, the 252 OMC number = 2.5 liter 2 bbl carb

the letters designate engine options and year i believe

OMC didn't really have any rhyme or reason to their lettering, need a model number guide for that

Thanks all of you for your quick anwsers, I'll double check the part number with the provided breakdown list. I'll also inspec the engine this weekend to see if it can be rebuilt, from there, the next step will be to find exactly which outdrive I need
