Identify older Merc 50 horse 2 stroke

The numbers stamped on the model and serial number plate is 3242681. Is this a 1981 motor?

THE serial number on the motor tells All. motors and boats change hands.
Smarter than the serial Number?

I feel that there was some less than honesty going on with this deal. Way too much oxidation on the pontoons, would have to take the boat down to the frame and start over from the floor up. At my age well just not worth the trouble. Again thanks for your input, old jim

Great kudos to you for coming back and letting us know. I am happy that you are getting out of the deal. I know you didn't want to hear the information that we provided but it sounds like you gave it some thought.
