its 100% sand perch as stated by (dboyd351 ) catch 1000000 of these in the gulf ( clearwater FL area ) .They make a decent grouper bait an yes they are good eating , most are on the small size

I have caught different types of fishes but this fish is looks something different than other. I don't about this fish. But may be this is a Pig fish. Well, I will search about this fish afterwards.

Sand Perch for sure. We also call them squirrel fish. Best grouper bait out there. Also good eating I hear but I would rather trade it for a grouper any day. (When they are in season)

+10 on the sand perch. Usually find them in with a school of grunts. Hook them through the back and toss 'em back for the grouper! Then filet & grill the grouper while you're still 10 miles out so you don't get the hefty fine by draggin' his carcass home with you.

I caught this fish twice in about five minutes in the Pensacola pass on Saturday. Hook marks, definitely the same one!

I haven't come across this one before. Anyone know what he is? He was released (obviously).

Man I caught the same fish,I've been waiting to get my pic from buddy,I remember the fish has some nice snaper looking teeth.

howbout this fish ,lives in all oceans and is an herbivore,found off shore,my broyher hooked one on watermelon peel,fish had been eating the floating peels I noticed,my bro nearly got spooled,fish is like a Pacu,underwater rocket!
