Re: Identify thru hull fitting

maybe there's some model specific information in your ski deck manual. the thru hull fitting may have a nut on the inside of the transom.

Re: Identify thru hull fitting

Still back at the same old game.
1. There is no such boat manufacturer as "Ski/deck"
2. What ever this thing is probably had a year of manufacturer. (Still not given)
3. If there is no manufacturer that you know of, and no year of manufacture, how do you expect anyone to tell you how to get to it.

To be quite honest. I am beginning to think you are a troll. Just looking to stir the pot with unanswerable, questions. Hell, you don't even answer the questions when asked, all you do is yada, yada, yada.

I can get no answer at the Gatesville number. It seems to belong to a private party now.

You may have a boat (like many) made by a company that is no longer in business.

My Four Winns Liberator has an ice box that drains via a "Thru-hull' in the side.

Your only fix may be to remove the fitting and use marine glass & epoxy to seal up the hole.

This thread should probably be moved to the Boat Restoration and Building section........

Re: Identify thru hull fitting

I doubt seriously that the boat came from the manufacturer with that fitting there. Never mind that the fitting is way large for an ice chest drain. You can't get very tight on those plastic thru-hulls, and they get brittle with age and can break....easily, potentially sinking your boat. If you replace it, at least get a brass thru-hull that you can seal and tighten. And as I mentioned before, water leaking there may have wicked into the wood in your transom. This could cause you bigger problems. I would recommend having someone check the transom with a moisture meter to determine if any damage has occurred.
