Hi, new to the forums and my first post.

Any hep would be appreciated.

First: Im trying to identify my outboard Motor, Its a Johnson Sea Horse 33 Electric start and i cannot find any lables or markings on it to distinguise its year, Is there a spot im suppost to be looking for a label or markings of any kind?

Secondly: What are the settings for the Lean and Rich Mixture, It runs okay but i have noticed a loss in power since my friend (Mr I Know How) adjusted something on it, It use to go pretty fast and now it just runs about half speed at full trottle.

Heres whats been done to it recently: New Fuel Pump, New Fuel Lines, New Coils, New Plugs, and a compression test and it passed with flying colors.

Motor Starts with a flick of the switch but simply has little power, umlike it did since my friend touched the needles on it.

I just found this site and hoping someone out there has the answers i seek.

Thanks in advance.

99 times out of 100, a twin cylinder, single carburetor motor running at half speed means it is running on one cylinder. Adjusting the carburetor won't change that because the carb feeds BOTH cylinders.

So, bottom line is you need to figure out why it is running on only one cylinder. Check the spark. Check the compression. Check for water in the cylinders. Could be as simple as just a bit of carbon bridging the spark plug gap.

If picture comes up, it will show model number location:

Thanks for the Reply.

Okay heres the model Number: RXE-14D which according to Google Search says its a 1966 Model.

RXE-14 Johnson 1966
33 hp @ 4500 rpm
40.5 cu.in. = 663.7 ccm 2 cyl
127 - 140 lbs. = 57.6 - 63.5 Kg
prop 10 1/2 x 12 opt.: 10 3/8 x 11 1/2 , 10 3/8 x 14
gear ratio 12:21

And as for the adjustment screws, i wil have to take it out on the water to set it, Boat and motor is currently sitting on the lake.

Thanks again and i think youve helped answer all my questions.
