The data plate on my Force 85 was so faded, I couldn't make out any of the info printed on it. I tried the following with good success:
1. Get a wide, permanent magic marker
2. In the other hand, have a dry paper towel
3. One line at a time, mark over the numbers with the magic marker, then immediately scrub the ink off with the paper towel
4. Proceed to the serial number, and repeat
5. If you still cannot see the number clearly, repeat as above.
6. Don't let the magic marker ink dry before you wipe it off with the towel
7. If the numbers are still hard to read, hold a small flashlight at a low angle to the plate, and the numbers should become visible
8. Write them down somewhere you can find them later.
