Identifying older Merc outdrive units?

I recently picked up two older boats, one a 1962 with a Merc 110, the other a 1971 with a Merc 120. The two look nearly identical other than a few minor details. The water inlet to the head is different, the older drive has a lever on the side to lock the drive down, and a few other minor details here and there.
My question is, how do I determine which drive each of these are when ordering parts? I have two shop manuals, both aftermarket, that refer to several different drives but I have no idea how to tell which I have here.
I have a local marina that sells Mercruiser parts, but they are only a parts dealer and haven't sold new Mercruiser in 10 years or more.

Both will most likely need a reseal job, both have been sitting in a warehouse since at least 1974. Both are dripping oil from the prop shaft but neither were low on oil after all that time. The older unit shows signs of salt use, but it came with a new head, new manifold, and new riser, so I have to assume that one has some sort of motor problem. Both crank and are not seized, and both have good compression. The newer 120 has a problem with the tilt unit, it will go down but not up. (I can operate it by jumping the solenoid, so it's most likely a bad switch or wiring).

Both boats are in nice condition, they have sat for years in storage and were acquired through an estate sale. They were both being used, or at least registered in 1974 and probably haven't moved since then.
The drive on the 1971 looks pretty much like what I am used to seeing, but I've never seen one with the lever to lock the drive down, sort of like what's on an outboard without power tilt.
On the older boat, I am at this point assuming that whoever had owned and stored these must have know that the one needed motor work since there was a new cylinder head, gaskets, and exhaust parts in a box in the boat.
Since that motor shows signs of salt use and corrosion, I will have to look pretty close at the rest of the motor too.
The 1971 looks like new. The '71 has 145 psi compression on each cylinder, while the '62 110 only reads about 115 psi on all 4.

The 1971 has what looks like a complete spare set of bellows all new in the packaging with it, as well as a set of old used ones that I found in the boat.
I have no idea why both were stored for so long, but there were many other items, including automobiles that were also stored the same way. A friend that had no interest in boats bought the entire contents of the warehouse at an auction, I ended up with the boats and a few other items.
