Re: Identifying prop specs

There isn't really a "spec" for the application, but there IS a series of props to fit your prop shaft, by many different manufacturers.
What kind/size boat are we using this on????

Re: Identifying prop specs

It's a 05 alumium vee lowe fish/ski 17.3ft. I only use it for fishing w/two people. I beleive it's 1200 lbs plus people/gear. I damaged prop that came with it. New speed was 48, i don't know at what rpm (WOT). Manual says 5000-6000 rpm max.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Identifying prop specs

Look on the prop you currently have. The part number (or diameter and pitch) are usually stamped on the housing or on the hub. Get the same prop if you were happy with that one. Unless we know what RPM the engine was turning at maximum speed we can't recommend anything. Read the very first post on this thread.

Re: Identifying prop specs

If the prop was supplied with the engine when you originally purchased it, chances are its a Mercury prop. Get the part number off of it and then go to Mercury Marine website. Their "Prop Finder" will tell you what the diameter and pitch is for your existing prop. Then you can get a similar diameter and pitch prop from any prop supplier. Or, just get another prop from your Mercury dealer.
