Yesterday while out on Lake Wi with my wife, we were in 1 of the more narrow areas behind another boat that was going slow but we werent in any hurry so we just stayed behind & waited for the river area to open up just a bit further ahead.
Anyways this clown comes up alongside the both of us doing about 45mph & throwing up a huge wake. Both of our boats were smaller & got tossed around a bit by this. Then the clown heads straight once the river widened & instead of following the channel markers he went & cranked the boat to the left at full speed & then nailed a good sized sand bar. He was throwing mud & sand up in the air from his prop digging in real good. His entire boat ended up sitting in maybe 4-5" of water.

We went by laughing our heads off. Sure it may not be very sportsman like to do that..but screw that idiot, he got what he deserved.

Oh, yes! Sometimes payback happens. I might have motored over nearby, though, and hailed the boat to ask if they wanted me to call anyone on my cell phone, since my boat is too old and puny to tow them off the bar.

I hope nobody was hurt in the idiot's boat.

That clown screwed up and pay dearly for it. He would have to get his boat pull out and then get his lower unit flush out and change the impeller with all the mud he churn out. Put it this way... SERVE him right. :D :D I have no tolerance for idiots.

I would have definitely offered help for anyone injured as it is your legal responsibility as well as the moral thing to do. Then if no one was hurt, I would laugh like hell and offer to call for a tow for him while telling him about boating classes and channel markers.

Eventually these idiots buy it. Sometimes fun to see them screw up, but I guess I would have contained my laughter until I knew no body got hurt. The pilot was the jerk, passengers were in the wrong place at the moment. He'd have felt pretty stupid having everyone offer help, as he was probably an "I Know" guy.

And I got my but chewed here for questioning a couple posters about their habbits of flying in 12" of water. Wonder if that guy was one of them. HA HA HA > as long as the passengers were unhurt

I've spent about as much time as I possibly could on or near large bodies of water since the mid 60's. It seems I see something like that, or worse about every 4th or 5th time I go out.

I try to avoid those sort of life's pitfalls, try to help others when I can, and I sure feel guilty about laughing at the missfortune of others,,, but dog-gone-it, like the episode you recently witnessed, sometimes ya just can't help yourself and keep a straight face after being involved in something like that.

A couple of months ago I piloted one of the camera boats for a BIG fishing competition. I very quickly got the message - either dead slow or full bore, NOT half speed & half on the plane.
