Idle adjustment on 79 100hp Chrysler

My son has a 16' newman with a 100hp 1979 Chrysler and AFTER it warms up it won't idle. We tried adusting the idle but where I was adusting it, it seemed to throw the timing off. I reset things back to where they were. Question is - How do you turn up the idle?

There is a screw and locknut (Idle stop screw) on the timing tower. It is located on the cast part where the ball link for the carb cam attaches.

The screws your adjusting are for the air/fuel mix.
In till they just bottom(gently) then out 1 turn.
Then adjust the idle on the towershaft.
