Hi, I just finished my first rebuild of a '83 115 evinrude. Replaced 2 pistons, all new rings and bearings(and gaskets). Everything went great. I have 2 questions. I checked compression before I started it for the first time (after the rebuild)and it was 90-90-90-120 (this motor has low compression heads). After running it for about 10 minutes at idle with double oil it has come up to 110-110-110-120. I'm assuming with some more run time they will even out? The other thing is, in the water the idle is good, but in gear I need to bring it up a little. The idle adjustment screw is all the way in. Why would this be and what can I do to raise? Is it because of the double oil? I rebuilt the carbs also so I know that isn't the cause. It runs great throughout the rpm range and I'm going through the break in per the manual. Other than those 2 things, I am very happy and it was cool to do a complete tear down and rebuild. Thanks for the help.
